| Hard-times in Germany, and the extensive feeding requirements of the Giant
Schnauzer, made this breed lose popularity for sometime.It was used for herding and as a
butcher's drover and guard.This is a hardy breed but does not need too much exercise. It
is a powerful dog which will protect its master and family. This breed was developed by
increasing the size of the Standard Schnauzer. It weighs 32-35 kgs and is about 60-70 cms
