Staffordshire Bull Terrier

| This breed is said to have a Jekyll and Hyde character. It is friendly,
loves the family and even strangers and thrives on affection. However, when it sees
another dog, it seems to have a strong desire to destroy. Selective breeding has reduced
this tendency. Believed to be a cross between ferocious well-muscled bull baiters
and agile lithe Terriers, this dog was bred for ratting and dog-fighting. Its popularity
is increasing. It weighs 11-17 kgs and is 36-41 cms tall. |
